Grand Rapids, MI (tiempolatin.com).- On Sunday, March 17, residents of the City of Grand Rapids received the news that the water in Grand Rapids was contaminated, one of the principal drinking water pipes was broken.
In certain areas of the city, residents living east of U.S. Highway could not drink tap water. 131 and those who live northeast of the town were recommended not to drink the water.
In a few days the broken pipe was fixed, however there was no explanation from the city, we were only told that the water could now be drunk.
In some places, bottles of water were distributed for free and that was the end of the matter.
So far the mayor and representatives of the city government have not come forward to give any explanation as to why the pipe broke, and we are left to speculate. Was it the weight of a trailer that broke the pipe? Are the pipes already very old? Did someone break the pipe by mistake when they were digging?
Nobody knows and nobody knew and if you question them on Facebook they come to defend them.
Is Grand Rapids the next Flint? Are lead pipes contaminating water? Or are they not lead? How long does a pipe last? These and many other questions should be answered by the Grand Rapids authorities, who are paid a salary for that.
By the way, the city has been changing the pipes in the houses, because they say they are made of lead and were contaminating the water.
