To mark the eightieth sixth birthday of Jose Alfredo Jimenez, the legendary Mexican composer, Tiempo Latino pays homage to the singer, who was distinguished by his talent for composing ranchera songs, which to date, people are still singing.
The Legend said that Jimenez had a remarkable facility for writing songs.
He wrote “The king”, when he was serenading his girlfriend, according to his legend.
The extraordinary songwriter was born in the town of Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato.
Gabriel Estrada III, ranchera singer, said he likes to sing the songs of Jimenez because his songs awake many emotions in people.
“When I sing “Caminos de Guanajuato,” people cried, especially people from Guanajuato.
His songs were often personal experiences as the song “Paloma Querida,” he wrote it to his wife where he tells his devotion to her, said Estrada.
Estrada is originally from Alice, Texas, and said Jimenez music is representing all Mexicans and Latin Americans.
Estrada is participating in a contest organized by Pepe Aguilar called the king of mariachi.
In the contest people have to go to the website of Pepe Aguilar and vote for the video of Estrada to go to the second round.
But taking up the theme of Jimenez, the composer is certainly the most representative musician of Mexican music, who composed more than a thousand songs and is considered a national treasure in Mexico.
Jimenez wrote songs for the legends of Mexican ranchera music like Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante and Javier Solís. The origin of Jimenez is humble and like most artists of that time, he emigrated to Mexico City for work.
In the Federal District became famous and recorded dozens of albums, and sang for thousands and garnered a number of wins with his songs. With their songs and humility endeared people around the world.
